Hi, before i buy my first Notebook, i want to ask your view about one keyboard issue. As you use your laptop, its keyborad becomes a bit shiny and old-looking with time. I wonder could it be just in a few months as some people mentioned in these forums.
Please speak out what notebook you have, since how long you are using it, and how is the look of your keyboard, touchpad area. Also please specify your type of use, light use, medium or hreavy use. Thanks
Two of my friends have Acer TM & Dell Inspiron 6000 respectively. Their notebook use is light. I saw their kayborad, still new, no shining, no wear, and they have it since few months, 3 months or so.
Just more of a cosmetic issue but i am stuck on it.
Will post this issue to some other forums also.So please don,t mind if you find same thread somewhere else. :?:

I use a Dell Inspiron 6000, and obviously the keyboard gets a lot of tapping as I go. I've found it unavoidable that keys are going to become shiny on any keyboard you use a lot, but thus far there has been nothing like chipping of letters or any structural damage.

You just have to live with the reality of wear-and-tear on the cosmetics of a keyboard - it's more the functionality that gets me, like putting your finger down through the enter button or something.
