Hiya,

I am on a Fujitsu-Siemens Amilo A1630 Athlon 64 notebook, which I have had for around three months now. Recently, while playing Guild Wars, I noticed that my inventory ["i"- key] wasn't opening. At first, I thought that it was a problem with the game, but then I noticed that skills ["k"-key] wasn't opening either. I decided to open up word and discovered that my "F8", "8", "i", "k" and "," keys weren't working.

At first, I considered that my touch-pad was interfereing with my keyboard, and it was causing other problems nontheless, so I downloaded a synaptics driver and disabled the touch-pad. But that didn't work. I also noticed that it worked when I booted up my laptop, but after around forty-five minutes of usage, depending on what I was doing (Could my over-heating problems be cuasing this?) they start getting stuck, only work after three or four hits, and then stop working all together.

I searched countless forums and websites, but only discovered help along the lines of "Here is a list of repairmen that can help you out.." or "Here is a list of alternate codes for your broken keys.."

I've rambled on long enough, and some of the keys are starting to go, so I'll finish with what I should have started with: "Are these keys not working due to a hardware or software problem and do I need to get it repaired or is there something I can do in, for example, device manager?"

I do apologise if something along these lines has been posted and would appreciate a link if it's not too much trouble, but I simply do not have the time.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Not sure if this will help you in any way but try reading through this thread, it sounds like a similar problem I am having.
