I recently acquired a motorola v551 and I am wondering if anyone has any tips regarding the display timeout/backlight.
First, to see if I understand both correctly, the display timeout is a sort of screen saver for your phone. When it doesn't detect any movement within a certain period of time, the phone shuts its screen down to save power. With the v551, the options are "off", "1 minute" and "2 minutes", meaning that either there will be no automatic shut-off, or a shut off after one and two minutes respectively.
The backlight feature affects the keypad lighting and will shut down after 20, 40, or 60 seconds.
If this is all correct, then I shall continue to my issue. If not, please inform me of my mistake.
The Issue: My backlight feature seems to control both the keypad lighting and my screen. Despite having chosen "off" for my display timeout, both the keypad light and screen go dark after 60 seconds. I do not seem to be able to keep my screen lit as long as I would like.
If anyone is having the same problem, please let me know. I would basically like to know how to keep my screen lit indefinately without if going dark during calls.
Any help would be appreciated.
Echo Romeo.
ps. Other than that, my v551 works perfectly and I'm very satisfied with it.
