Would depend on the condition of the mic; they are somewhat fragile, and
the ribbons get tired. Reribboning is not inexpensive. I like those mics
a lot. I've had my pair so long I have no idea what the go for now.
how much for a working a good looking second hand, in original green
wooden tiney box. Tuchel connector. No guaranties except personal
confirmation everything's fine at the moment.
If i get offer in the range of above mentioned, I'll sell it.
I just bought a mint M500N for 26 Euros with original box and papers... what
can I say...
Figure out a price based on the current street price times 0.75.

Good for you. Now with this saving you can relax about the RNCs.
What is the mic's history... what has it been used for, or where did
you get it? Does it have a cable that will connect to the Tuchel
connector?

I've never ever seen a 160 going for 200 Euros new.
150 for a used one in pefect working order would be a bit of bargain.

And no, I'm not offering 150 Euros, especially since I can't test the thing
before buying.
My local Beyer rep doesn't know what "re-ribonning" is, they just replace
the whole motor.
Basically, they slide a new mic in your mic body.
It is of course a very expensive repair...
With Funky Junk Italy selling the 160 for 400 Euros or so, having a 160
repaired in Belgium is not really cost effective.
So I would advise anyone thinking about buying a used 160 to try the mic vs.
a properly working 160 before giving away the money...
But you were asking for a price range..
I'd say 200 if just OK, 300 if mint... Euros ex VAT... but I'm known to
suggest/propose vastly inflated second hand prices ;O)
Realy, anywhere in that range would be fair, depending on condition.

If you get this done, PLEASE ask for the old parts back! There is a real
demand for the 160 transformers out there, among people who want to upgrade
the 260.80.

Now, let's see... yes, the transformer is swapped as well.
Not many go for it of course, and I'm not sure they would give the parts
back.
To be honest, I've done one of those already because I'm cheaper than the
local Beyer service center.
I'll ask if the owner still has the internal assembly.

In the US, they have to do so by law. The only company I have ever dealt
with that has refused to do so is Countryman.

Might be the ticket.
On second thought, better not. Yours is probably too similar to mine.
