I just need some advice from any Audigy Gamer owners. Has anyone noticed any crackling and sound problems using XP Pro and directx 9.0.

Every time i play any EAX game, after 3-10 minutes into the game i get high pitched whining and distorted noise on top of the game noise.

Has anyone experienced this and found a way to fix this problem without resorting to buying a new sound card.

if no one can help what is better the audigy 2 or hercules Fortisumo III (Whatever) card ????

Cheers

Does your motherboard have a VIA chipset?

Your crackling sound is caused by latency within the PCI bus for VIA chipsets. The patch is <A HREF="http://www.georgebreese.com/net/software/dl03.asp?FILE=vlatency_v019.zip" target="_new">HERE</A>. Let me know if it works for ya.

Coming from experience, there is no fix for your problem. If you love your VIA board, ditch the creative card and go with something else.

The problem lies in VIAs technology not creatives.
I had multiple problems with my multitudes of VIA based boards before I switched over to nforce.

I would move to a nforce2 or get a hercules card.
