I'm vowing never to buy Western Digital any more b/c of 2 failed drives, one under their white label MDT. Sooo, which one should I get?

A new Maxtor 30GB 7200rpm, ATA133 1yr warr. for $53

or

A new Seagate 30GB 5400rpm, ATA100 1yr warr. for $51

I know the Maxtor looks slightly better but generally Seagates are more expensive which leads me to believe they are better quality. What are your experiences?

I think they are both equally good, but Maxtor's IDE disks are faster than Seagate's these days.

Maxtor for speed, Seagate for quietness of operation.
