OK... I have 2 DVD drives... an NEC 1100A and a Pioneer 106.  They are both masters of thier own channel since I am running a U160 hard drive as well as another Yamaha CD Burner on a SCSI controller.

I am using Smartripper and the best speed I get ripping is 1.4x.

What gives?

Plus...anyone know how to get @#%& WMP to play audio CDs automatically.... I can't find the correct association..

Thanks!

Try using dvd decrypter, http://www.dvddecrypter.com, its better than smart ripper and it may RIP the DVD quicker for you, maybe the DVD just has some scratches in it, most DVD Rippers once they get a read error will default to a slower spped to read the DVD at.
