hello, I'm very concerned because i've heard that for the future games will not be notebook compatible such as some games already are..

I was going to boy a turion based laptop and spend about 1600$ on it but this notice really scared me because I wanted to use it playing in my free time at school..

the rumor i've heard says that games will only be compatible with desktop procesors... do you guys know anything about it? so.. turion dual core notebooks will waste their graphic power for nothing?

thanks

Notebook systems will be able to play all the games you want. I build custom gaming laptops and I hope I can put your mind at ease with this reply.

First a little history lesson. Pentium M notebook chips are based off highly modified Pentium 3 cores. Turion chips are derived from Athlon XP desktop cores chips. Essentially a Turion is just a desktop chip that runs using less energy. A desktop Athlon uses between 85 and 115 watts depending on how old it is. The Mobile Athlons run at 65 watts the Turion ML series runs at 35 watts and the Turion MT series runs at 25 watts.

So a Turion notebook will be able to run every game a Athlon desktop processor will.

The second thing to consider is that ATI's mobile chipset sales have tripled in comparison to their desktop counterparts Supporting Article. Video game manufacturers know this and they certainly are not going to alienate a tremendous market like that.

Rest assured, the Turion based notebook you buy today can play any game you want well into the future :D

I build a great gaming notebook system.

Current Base System is:
 Turion MT-40 2.2 GHz
 Hitachi 80 Gig 7,200 rpm hard drive
 1 Gig DDR400 CAS 2.5 Latency on 1 chip memory so you can upgrade in the future
 a/b/g/G+ 108 MBps Internal wireless with 2 antenna and built in RangeMax extender
 15.4" Glossy WSXGA Widescreen
 ATI x700 PCI Express Video card with 128 MB dedicated GDDR# memory
 Magnesium Alloy Case
 8 Cell battery, lasts about 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 hours

I can upgrade or downgrade just about everything. You can custom configure it at: www.KillerNotebooks.com

Since you are going to school next fall, I will have a new system by then. This is absolutely KILLER and I should have it available in March 2006:
