I'm going to be off to college after this school year. I'm looking for a decent laptop (preferably by Acer, Cyberpower, Winbook, or Toshiba) that can handle some moderate gaming (plugged into AC) but can give me some kickass battery life for college. I prefer laptops which you can put 2 batteries in, but one 12-cell would be enough IMHO.
Current Base System is: Turion MT-40 2.2 GHz
Hitachi 80 Gig 7,200 rpm hard drive
1 Gig DDR400 CAS 2.5 Latency on 1 chip memory so you can upgrade in the future
a/b/g/G+ 108 MBps Internal wireless with 2 antenna and built in RangeMax extender
15.4" Glossy WSXGA Widescreen
ATI x700 PCI Express Video card with 128 MB dedicated GDDR# memory
Magnesium Alloy Case
8 Cell battery, lasts about 2 1/2 - 2 3/4 hours
I can upgrade or downgrade just about everything. You can custom configure it at: www.KillerNotebooks.com
Since you are going to school next fall, I will have a new system by then. This is absolutely KILLER and I should have it available in March 2006:
March 2006 Base System Turion MT-40 2.2 GHz
Hitachi 80 Gig 7,200 rpm hard drive
 1 Gig DDR400 CAS 2.5 Latency on 1 chip memory so you can upgrade in the future
 a/b/g/G+ 108 MBps Internal wireless with 2 antenna and built in RangeMax extender
 15.4" Glossy WSXGA+ Widescreen

Price unknown at this point, but if you go to the site you can email me right on the configuration page.
I also offer a 17" model so if I can be of service, let me know!
