I need a reel motor for a Tascam TSR-80. Anyone have a TSR-80 laying
around that could be stripped for parts?

Any replies much appreciated.

Thanks,
Alan

Assuming you mean the TSR-8, I think Tascam still make those.
It appears to be the same part as used in the BR-20.

You might look for MrMarksMusic. He seems to collect stuff to be
stripped for parts and sell parts on eBay. Could that be the TSR-8
you're looking at, or the ATR-80 (nobody has one of those lying
around)?

Sorry. I'm an idiot. Yes, it's the TSR-8. I recently gave away an old
TRS-80 computer and the wires in my brain got crossed up.

Thanks for the tip on the BR-20. I'll look into that.

Alan

Model I, II, 3, or 4?

There's no model information on either the machine itself or the manual
beyond TSR-8. So I do not know. I'm not knowledgeable enough to know
the difference between Models I, II, 3, 4. It's serial number 250056 if
that means anything.

I was referring to the computer. I spent the first several years of my
programming career sitting in front of a Model II.

No, but if the bearings are shot, they aren't all that hard to replace.
As long as the armature is good, there's no reason not to rebuild the
old motor.

Oh. The *computer*. No wonder :)

The TRS-80 was a Model 100.
