I am willing to spend around $1000 tomorrow and have my mind set on an HP AMD Turion ML-40 with 1GB ram and an 80GBHD, 15.4" screen, dvd, wireless yadda yadda... Is this a good machine for $1000 or can i get an Intel with roughly the same specs for the same price? What's the Intel equivalent ? Centrino? Pentium M 735, 740, 750, etc? Looking for some feedback so I don't make a foolish purchase, thanks for reading!

Dell has their 9400 on sale for $999 , it has simular specs,with a dual core cpu.I have the Hp you speak of and I like mine alot.
