Can anyone recommend where I can find a 17" LCD with 1024x768 Native Resolution?

The only thing I can find in a 17 is 1280x1024, and that is too small for me to work in.

Also, is the smaller the ration the better or larger? (ie. 300:1 or 500:1)

You can always change a 17" LCD to a lower and non-native resolution though the display might be a bit blurry. As for your 2nd question, did you mean contrast ratio?

Yea. Some are 300:1 others are 500:1

What does this mean? And is the larger #:1 a better option

Surely the larger # the better coz you have more room for adjusting the contrast ratio.
