goin out to buy new burner

wondering, my old burner crapped out on me (hp), and im going to get a new one today. I hear of burn-proof and other nonsense... what do these do, i dont want this one to fail on me. take a look at this page, these are my options for a burner, any ideas? http://www.canadacomputers.com/cdrom.html thxxx

I was gonna to say the same thing too. "Good & cheap" seems to be the key to a success of a product.

Very simple. It works and is cheap and comes with Nero deluxe software that also works well. And it is a good company.

My Plextor I paid $180 for (16x burner) died in less than a year, these Lite-ons I have now are 52x and have lasted for months now LOL LOL LOL. Seriously, bad Karma and programs killed my Plextor.
For the $50 or less these Lite-Ons go for, they are good deals.
Or at least they are the best available for the money.

I bought one at Best Buy during one of those $25 deals a couple months ago and it already is failing at burning at higher speeds. Reads OK though.

You bought a Lite-On at BestBuy for $25? That is quite a deal. Shouldn't go out that fast, tho. Have you changed the media before it started failing at high speeds? I'm sure you know that though.

I got mine when they just came out (read $250), and it still is as good as new (as far as burning goes), no prablemaz with all CDR ware.
