Hard drive shoot out

Which is the best 120G 8Meg buffer hard drive out as far as noise /speed quality from a HANDS ON experiance.
I want to get one on monday there cheep here !! PS how much performance gain have you seen 20% ??

I went from a WD200BB (7200rpm, 2mb, 20gb) to a WD1200JB (7200rpm, 8mb, 120gb). I can't really judge performance well because it was during a computer upgrade, but it seems to perform very well especially when working with large files or massive numbers of small files comparitively.

Mine are quieter than I thought they'd be. I don't hear them over my case fans and I have three.

I have a 1200JB and you can't hear it over the case fans or the CPU fan. 20 min ago I added a 2000JB and the noise didn't change either. The JB's are pretty quiet.

It's taking a while to format this beast though...49%

Yeah, good choice, I have 4 x 120JB's in raid 0 and I cannot hear them at all over the case fans which are fairly quiet, let alone the kids fighting, music and TV screaming, the missus yelling and the 2 scsi drives. :lol:
Seriously IMO they are the best drives I have ever used.

Maxtor Plus9 is best current, Western Digi & IBM 180GXP about equal for the most part... (IBM is the cheapest when I got mine 10 days ago)
