5400rpm & 7200rpm drive on same computer?

Hi there! This is really a newbie question, but can have 2 hard drives running at different speeds (5400prm & 7200rpm) running on the same computer? I already have a 40Gb 5400rpm hard drive, and I found a good deal for a 20Gb 7200rpm one.
