Can i dual boot W7 32 and 64 on the same HDD or do i have to wipe the 32 bit install and then install the 64 bit OS ? Im guessing i have to wipe it or the MBR may throw a wobbly ?
The reason is i want to upgrade to 4 GB RAM and thought i may as well try it for compatability while its free. No point getting the extra Ram and finding out i have issues with the rest of the Computer running the 64 bit OS. I still have and will continue to have the XP install on a second HDD, this shouldnt have an issue with 4 GB of ram in the machine will it ? I know it wont see it but could it cause issues ?

While you can use the same drive, you will need 2 partitions. So if you only have one, you will to use a partition manager to shrink the drive and make room for about 20gb+ partition for the 64bit instalation.
Make sure you backup your files in case of problems when using partitioning tools.
