I reinstalled the operating system on my Toshiba Satellite P15 S409. I downloaded all drivers and software appropriate for this laptop from Toshiba's site. When I open Device Manager and select View, Show hidden devices I have a yellow question mark next to Other devices. When I expand the tree the entry is Unknown device.
Under device Properties, General, Device status,
This device is not configured correctly. [Code 1]
I click reinstall driver but Windows can't find a driver. I have no idea what this device is. I've installed all the drivers that are available from Toshiba for this laptop.
Under the Details tab it reads, Device Instance Id ACPICMP01012&DABA3FF&0
Hardware Ids
ACPICMP0101
*CMP0101
Enumerator
ACPI
Capabilities
CM_DEVCAP_SILENTINSTALL
This has to do with ACPI compliant plug and play drivers. I don't know why Windows XP isn't loading the driver through plug and play. I attempt to install the driver automatically but Windows can't find a driver.
