hey guys...been reading a lot about DVD burners right now and i think i am hooked on that SONY DRU drive. looks awesome and can do almost all dvd formats. just have a couple of questions for you guys.

1. More and more everyday i wanna go external for my cpu (cant be bothered always opening my cpu etc.) is USB 2.0 able to handle transfer rates from my HD to the burner so that data will not be lost? (is usb transfer speed fast enought basically).

2. Can u buy USB 2.0 expansion cards? do you have a have a special motherboard or any motherboard can do?

this will help me determine which is better for me...IDE internal or USB external...thx guys.

1. Yes
2. Yes you can get a USB2.0 card if you mobo doesn't support USB2.0. And most of today's mobos have built-in USB2.0 ports.

BTW, external burners are much more expensive than the internal ones. And if you don't need to share the burner among many PC's, it doesn't make sense to waste money on an external burner.
