Good PCI IDE raid controller?

I wanna buy a PCI IDE Raid card, because i have the Asus p4c800-deluxe mobo and there seems to be a hardware malfunction in the promise / northbridge controller cards, making the drives write extremely slowly. What is a good, FAST, raid controller carD? I was looking at a highpoint rockraid100, ive had good experiences in the past, Any ideas?

Given my experience, I'd rather have the Highpoint controller than a Promise.

But there are some decent Silicon Image RAID controllers for around 1/2 the price of the Highpoint controller.

Thank you guys for your info, on a side not though, has anyone heard of any fixes asus has come up with for the problem iwth the p4c800 promise card?
