Hi,
I am trying to import SDII audio files from Digital Performer to Protools
TDM 5.3 under MAC OS9.2
I have big trouble because I can't find the original time stamp on these
files and I really need it!!
I tried both "importing audio" and "importing audio to track". I already
tried to convert the files both to .wav and to keep them in SDII format.
Any suggestions?
I hope to solve this problem or I will be in a very bad situation.
Thanks for helping!

Hi,
Nightmare...
You could use OMF open music format for the export. Or you could bounce
or consolidate the files on the dp session, as long as they all have
the same start time you can just spot them into tools.
I believe merging the files in DP will get the same start point for the
files..of course that means re-bouncing. OMF's are also an option

Turn on "Spot" mode, and drag the file from the audio region list onto a
track. You SHOULD get a dialog asking where you want the region to be
placed, and a list of the "original" timestamp, and the the "user"
timestamp. Click on the appropriate arrow to transfer the original
timestamp into the position window, and it'll place the region at that
timestamped location.
If you don't get the dialog box, then you need to turn off "Auto Spot"
mode (under "Operations" ).
You might want to make sure your session start time is 0:00, so that no
region is "out of range".
This should work well with SDII files, .wav files are a lot iffier (Digi
is a bit close-minded regarding the "proper" format of .wav files....I
spent half an hour today working around Protools inability to recognize
and import .wav files created in Cubase on a PC (but Quicktime would
play them JUST FINE!!!)
