the firmware on my ngage (original) is 3.47
which is the latest supported in israel
eurocom which is the local nokia representitive won't install higher versions
does anyone know how can i get my ngage upto version 4.03 ?

hi,

Why do you want to install a new firmware. I dont understand how do u know ur firmware version. But if you hack into the firmware software then you will have boot up problems

i would like to update the firmware to the latest for this device.
problem is, i want to do this without external perpherials.
like run a program that does that. same way one would update the bios on their pc

I think i know what you trying to say. I have this program called file explorer. you may download this file from www.lonelycatgames.com and install it into your fone. After you have installed it, you must select show hidden files. It will show you all hidden files (C: and Z:)

C: is your fone installation programs and Z: is your fone backup installation programs. You want to change the C: drive. But you can edit your C: drive but you can copy onto ur E: drive (which is your MMC) and then edit it from your computer.

yeah, i know fexplorer, problem is getting hold of the latest ngage rom
any ideas ?

I think its best that you go to the nearest nokia service centre to upgrade. Did the Filexplorer help?

the nokia service center here only supports version 3.30 or some thing of that sort. the whole localization issue is their alleged justification but i am pretty sure it is bollocks.
so they are definitely not my solution.
maybe next time im abroad ill try to get a local nokia service center to update me.

ps: fexplorer didnt really help becuz i dont have the files i want to replace. but thanks anyway
