S/PDIF sound card

I'm looking to build a new system. I want a sound card that has digital optical or coxal out puts, so I can plug the system into my reciever. Does any know of and recommend any such sound cards? Or maybe if some one know of a motherboard with those built on as well. Thanks for any leads.

  1. The current best value motherboard, the Abit IS7, has both digital in and digital out, via digital optical connections.

You can check out a wide array of 865/875 boards in Anandtech's latest roundup.

  2. The nForce2 series with the MCP southbridge (aka: Soundstorm, or 5.1 audio) also has digital out, if you're an Athl-ete.
