Media Play Keeps Trying To Connect To The Internet

For some reason whenever I open up Media Player it keeps asking to connect to the internet. If I close the dial-up networking box it still tries to connect several more times. Does anyone know how to fix this?

sounds like its trying to query cddb, or check for updates, go to tools/options, you will see allsorts of BS there that needs disabling
