how far can you stretch intel graphics? photoshop? sketchup?

Alright, after reading the article I accept that the Intel GMA 950 is no gameworthy graphics accelerator. But how far can you really stretch integrated graphics?

Are they powerful enough now for photo editing?

for entry level modeling and design?


I'm heading for college this fall, and looking at my NEC mobilepro 880 ,
I don't expect my portable computing solution to last the next 4 years.

and while my home computer (9800pro 128mb) should survive, as a commuting student I'll need something I can take with me.

The 950 GMA is good enough for static/photo work. It just lacks the power for video work.
