I am looking for a program that will allow me to have the above. One that
uses the normal ToDo database would be much preferred. Does anyone have any
recommendations as to what they have used and what they liked. What you did
not like is even more important!

The normal ToDo database has no place to put hierarchy information, so
it's unlikely you'll find one that uses the normal ToDo database. But
Shadow Plan, Bonsai, and the freeware Progect all let you make hierar-
chial to do lists.

Perhaps....but the normal DateBook database has no place for the info that
DB5 puts in, but it still works. it adds the info into an attached note. I
hoped some one would have done similarly with ToDo

I have replaced my ToDo app with Shadow Plan. It can sync to and from
the built in ToDo database, but I don't know how hierarchal ToDos are
handled. It is everything I need except for one major (to me) flaw. It
does not support reoccurring or regenerating tasks. There are
workarounds (some manual) and I am using them because I like the rest of
Shadow Plan so much.
I really hope one day it gets support for reoccurring/regenerating tasks.

I like Progect and it's desktop tool PDesk. Both are GPL open source, so
free to use.

I use ThoughtManager--a general heirarchal outline program. It has my todos and
checklists all in one.

ShadowPlan is an outliner that allows you to link your various entries with
ToDos. Find it here: http://www.codejedi.com/

Try the freeware program called Progect too. Here's the link:

I use Hi_Note to keep a large anesthesiology database. It's essentially a small book
of accumulated pearls.
