Heya andlcs;

The answer to your question is the higher quality the ram is the more agressively you can set your timings.

The highest quality ram will allow 2.0-3-2-6, high Quality ram will allow 2.0-3-3-6, a medium quality ram will allow 2.5-3-3-6,while poor quality ram will only allow 3-4-4-8.

Also different ram have varying speed look for 6.0ns or better, alot of the highest quality ram today are 5.0ns

So as you can see its a good idea to research the timings and speed on the ram you are thinking about buying.

I hope i have helped.

Also running the memory slower means you can set the timings lower. Im running memory rated for 2.5,3,3,6 at 200mhz but actually i can run it at 2,3,3,6 without problems and at 194mhz i can run it at 2,2,2,6 but then you lose the advantage of higher speed memory somewhat...
