improving performance of LeadTek WinFast TV 2kXP

Hi!

A good day to you all. i noticed that it chokes on occassion when i set the capture settings to higher framerates and video quality. Would upgrading my cpu n board and memory help it out? My understanding is that it uses software encoding/compression; is it reasonable to conclude that performance is closely tied to the CPU/mem? i'm currently using a Celeron 1.0G with 192mb PC133 SDRAM, btw.

Yes it uses software compression! Good luck doing anything else while recording TV on that system with software compression. It will use around 100% of your CPU cycles.
