Forum Video Games : General Discussion Info on Aircraft positioning in FS2002 at startup?

Hi,
I am looking for help in positioning the aircraft at
startup.
I fly from Inverness in North Scotland and when I start
FS2002 The aircraft are at the end od the active runway(06)
As you can see I am very new to this system and I would
like the aircraft to be parked away from the runway.
IS THIS POSSIBLE? or do I require a program to re-position
the aircraft and if so what is it and where can I obtain
it.

Regards

Iain Cowan.

Iain -
Move your aircraft to where you want it to be at startup.
You can also set the 'time' and any other conditions you
prefer... then go to Menu bar > Flights > Save as (give it
a name you'll remember) then click OK. If you wish, you
can check the 'Save as Default' box and then it will be
there the next time you start, right where you left it.

Iain,

from the 'create a flight' page where it has 'current location', click on
the 'change' tab just below that.
this will change to the 'go to airport' page. from there in the lower left
hand corner you will see the 'runway/starting position' box with 'active
runway' inside that box. scroll down to choose which runway or parking
ramp/gate you would like to start from.
goodluck!

Well you can always push Y to slew your way ;-) when
positioned simply hit Y again.

Alternatively, you could follow the same process, but from within flight
planner, and save the flight plan. Then when you load the flight plan,
it will move you to that parking spot. FS2004 has the aditional option
of moving you or leaving you in your current position.
