I have a Dell 8300 currently have 2x128mb dual channel memory (400mhz)
Question:
Should i upgrade with 2x256mb dual channel corsair twin =~$158-$168
or buy 2x512mb "Regular" 3200 400mhz memory from corsair or kingston or mushkin?? for about the same price and a bit less = $140-$180

if i was to go with the regular which kind of memory and from whom should i get it from?
3500??

i have a p4 2.6 Ghz @ 800mhz
pls help i need to upgrade soon...thank you

You pay more for corsair because it's better memory. But your board is probably made to tolerate a little less, so 2x512MB Kingston modules should work fine.

Heya windcloud;

If it were my system i would want 1GB of memory, alot of the new games comming out now are reccomending 768MB of memory for optimal play.

With that in mind i would goto http://www.buyaib.com
*Dont select the "Dual Channel Memory", Instead Select the regular Micron or Samsung 512MB modules -pc3200-, Select option-C, this option upgrades the memory to Cas 2.0, and you can run your memory at 2.0-3-3-6, dont forget to buy 2 units, they have a great product and for $7 more you can get a lifetime instant replacement warranty, so if it ever dies it will be replaced no questions asked.

The final cost will be right at $200.

I hope i have helped.
