Hello, I've had a problem for quite some time now. Im unable to play any Dirt game, gta or f1 series because I need to have installed c++ 2005.

Problem is when I try to install, I get the following error:

Microsoft.VC80.ATL.type="win32".version="8.0.50727.42".publicKeyToken"="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b".processorArchitecture="amd64"

Ive tried searching for the error on this website, I found a bunch of stuff but none related to c++ 2005. I tried fixing it but with no sucess at all.

What I find wierd is that it says "processorArchitecture=amd64". I might be noob there, but Im using an i5 2500k.

Computer spec:
i5 2500k
560 ti
windows 7 home premium

Is there any way to fix this without having to reinstall windows? Seems like the only option ive found so far.

have you got the 32 or 64 bit windows 7? hope you have 64-bit if you dont dump the 32-bit and do a reinstall

if you have the 64-bit os then is the c++ package for 64-bit?

also run windows update that may help for optional packages etc

My windows is 64 bit, the package is to 64 bit. Tried with 32, wouldnt even let me start the installer.

When I first got the comp up and running, I did all updates fine. When it tried to install c++ 2005, thats where everything started to go wrong. Now, almost all my updates are fails. I cant even install proper x64 security update lol.

But that happened exactly when I first tried to install c++. Error, then no more able to download any updates and install them.
