Can preamps be bypassed on Akai DPS 16

I know they can on the DPS 24,but can they easily be bypassed on the
dps 16?I have an external mic preamp i want to use.Haven't yet bought
this recorder.Im trying to decide between the KorgD1600 and the Akai
DPS 16
