Steve Puntolillo does.

I might, but it's been years since I turned on the Type II box, and it
would probably need a serious going-over beforehand.

Most all of my type II was of the 200 series, pretty much fixed
compression/expansion settings 2:1-1:2.
Except for the 228 which did allow for a bit of fiddling with
compression with that short slider.
I really liked my 224 unit the most for basic recording.
I did have a 118 unit(but then most everybody had one at one time or
another.) but it was very limited in what it could do before you
started getting that "swish and boom" from pushing the
compression/expansion to far.
If actually getting your hands on one of the DBX units is what you're
after that's not too dificult.
I see them in most of the old school hifi shops all the time. Wilson's
audio in my locale carries tons of DBX gear, both type I and II.
I've even picked up type II boxes in my local thrift shops from time
to time.(last 224 I bought for a friend came from Goodwill for a mere
7 bucks and scoped out factory perfect.)
