i've checked all of my wholesale dealers, and got about 3 turion laptops between them (cf about 100 for intel based notebooks).

So who knows some good manufacturers (preferably available in australia).

I'm definately looking at Socket S1 based, 15" or 17", maybe widescreen, don't really care about graphics card, or ram or hdd size.

Actually, I'd prefer as barebones as possible, because i don't want bundled winblows or useless programs, and i'd prefer a bios i can configure everything in, like my desktop (unlike my gf's dell, and about every hp/compaq i've seen as well). and also because i can buy my own hdd/ram cheaper elsewhere.

cheers

I don't know of any companies that make Turion X2 laptops yets, although they should be coming out very soon as Turion X2 chips were released a while ago.

Alienware uses single core Turion processors in its current m9700 and mALX models. I'm not exactly sure what companies serve Austalia.
Killernotebooks.com also has Turion models. Killernotebooks posts on this forum a lot.
