Hi All
I am thinking about getting a RME ADI-1 to use with my battery
portable recording setup of a Grace Lunatec V2 preamp and a Tascam
DA-P1 recorder. I want to use the RME converter to take the output of
the Grace pre and convert it to digital for input to the DA-P1. Both
the Grace pre and the DA-P1 use 6 volt battery power while the ADI-2
will 12 volt battery power making the whole setup field portable. Any
advice pro or con will be appreciated.

You're heading for the trap that I've been avoiding - more pieces to
string together for doing on-location recording. This should be
getting simpler, not more complicated.
If you like the Grace preamp that you have now, perhaps you should
give some thought to trading it off for a V3, which has a built-in A/D
converter. Its S/PDIF RCA output will mate with your DA-P1, and it
will be useful into the next generation when your DA-P1 dies and you
can't get it repaired. Carrying, setup, and haywire will be no more
complex than what you have now, and you'll be improving the audio
quality of your system.
Is the Grace converter "as good sound quality as" [your favorite
product here]? Who knows? But I haven't heard any complaints.
