Is there a difference between the Flight Simulator 2004:
Century of Flight product #G13-00079 and #G13-00022?

I haven't heard of any different versions software wise. Maybe one is the
tin collectors packaging and the other is the more mundane card stock box. I
don't see either of those two combinations, or anything in a similar format,
on the tin box copy I have. I looked on the box, the CDs, the instruction
pamphlet, and the certificate of authenticity.

bill,

at

http://search.microsoft.com/search/results.aspx?view=en-us&st=b&na=82&qu=G13-00079

both product #'s end up with the xxx79 number.

not very informative from microsoft but, the xxx79 # leads me to believe
that it is the DVD version which can be played on the XBOX also.

so if you were to order fs2004 from direct from microsoft, it looks like
they would send the DVD version.
if you didn't have a DVD reader in your PC, you may be S.O.L.

The site appears to be refering to the DVD size packaging. The system
requirements page only lists a 4X CD reader as the installation drive. The
system requirements also specify Windows 98 or later and don't mention XBox.

Searching for "flight" on xbox.com doesn't produce any results for an Xbox
version of Microsoft Flight Simulator.

makes no sense to me.
bill's question did make me curious.
i suppose the best way to purchase 2k4 is hands on to read packaging.

There is no DVD version, nor an X-Box version :) The DVD reference
refers to the DVD-box style plastic packaging... There is the tin-box
version, the cardboard box version here in the US and the DVD
packaging.

Where does that number come from?
