Help choosing Laptop

New to the forumz so bare with me.
Im leaving for college in about two months to master in computer science, im in need of a new notebook and i was looking for some opinions, i do do gaming FPS mostly but not limited to, my budget is about 1500-2000$, i found a dell, that has a centino dou at 2ghz, with 2 gigs of ram, a 120g HD at 5400 rpm, with a X1400, and a 15.4 inch screen and a 85whr battery, for about 1700. is that the best i can do???
Please help it would be much appreiciated.
