comment tags in itunes, a question.

Hi,

I am a DJ that is getting overwhelmed with playlists. I read everywhere
that if you really know how to use itunes, you need very few play
lists. I have five styles of music I DJ, and each of those styles are
broken down into three categories (warmup, hot, cooldown) This makes my
playlist column quite large.

I have heard of people using the comment tag and then sorting with a
smart playlist. It is more of a hassle to type words into a field
(which is not very responsive I might add) than to drag into a
playlist.

When I select more than one song to alter its comment tag, it always
erases the previous comments, making songs with numerous styles a pain
(not impossible, just a pain)

How do others do this?
