I'm looking at buying a HP DV5000t here soon and I was looking at memory. HP charges $300 for 2GB of RAM. However, I can get 2GB of OCZ RAM from newegg.com for like $140. Does anybody here have an HP or knows if putting my own RAM in would void the warranty?

It probably does, because these guys will do anything to weasel out of their responsibilities, but as long as you don't mark up the case, there really isn't any way for them to know you replaced it, and if you have a warranty issue just put the old RAM back in.
