I need some options here. I assembled my computer a couple years ago, it has a MicroStar K7 MasterS (ms-6341)MB in it. I think that is the major bit of info that is needed. I bought a FujiFilm Finepix 3800 digital camera and thought I could just go out and get a USB PCI card for this thing and all would be well with the world. I did that and all is not well. The USB Hub won't install the driver.......if fact in System (under My Computer),in the Device Manager, under USB Root Hub properties, it has the message "The NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code 2) I went to the Windows.com info dump page and found that this message means I need a more up to date BIOS. So, I get the most recent one (2001 or 2002) and flash the BIOS....it looked like all would work, but it doesn't. It just keeps trying to load what it wants to load and not what I want it to load, which is my Fuji USB driver. How can I get around this without buying a new MB? This MB has an optional USB connector for the front panel. If I look at the MB there are pins in that space, but no jumpers on them. What are my options (seriously)? I just want to be able to get the pics off my camera???????

Its Win 98SE, with no USB's plugged in. THe only USB device I have is the camera, and that won't download the pics, because the drivers can't load.

Download the latest VIA 4in1 drivers and install them... but DON'T install the AGP driver when you can select which parts to install.

You can find the 4in1 drivers here: <A HREF="http://downloads.viaarena.com/drivers/4in1/VIAHyperion4in1448v.exe" target="_new">http://downloads.viaarena.com/drivers/4in1/VIAHyperion4in1448v.exe</A>

Well actually this wormhole project is a Top Secret ESA Scientific Test... so I can't give you any detailed info. However if I configure it correctly I might be able to transfer something through it towards your location.

Uuughhhhghghgh!!!!!!!!! I got the file from that location, but nothing changes. I tried deleting the ones that were loaded in system and re-installing, I tried this and I tried that, I stood on my head and cried for mercury. Why won't this board take these drivers???

USB Keyboard support = Enabled

Power Management
USB KB/MS Wake-up from S3 = Enabled

Disable USB Keyboard support... it only enables USB keyboard suport in DOS and can actually interfere with USB support in Windows environments.

Done........but no change. I tried installing again and nothing changes. It just won't load what I want it to load, or anything that doesn't say that there is a hardware problem. Whats with the loader message?

The only thing I can think of at the moment might be the lack of USB support of your OS (although Win98SE should have it)... do you have all the latest updates installed for the OS?

According to Microsoft's update page I do. But that Code2 message says its supposed to mean something about my BIOS, I updated that to the latest version, and it still won't load.

Shouldn't the card work? Or is that basically the same thing?

I did some searching in the MS Knowledge Base because I think the OS is the problem and I found this:

I bet you know what I'm about to say? It didn't change anything that I can see. It still won't take the drivers.
