I have an Alpha Vision Webcam USB. If I want to setup the webcam as a security device how do I go about doing this? Does the USB cable have a limitation on length and what specific software do I have to use? My first problem is however that I cant find drivers for this damn thing as the compnay ( looks like it ) has closed down and the install cd doesnt have drivers for the webcam. Advice would be appreciated.

Can't do anything about the drivers for your existing camera, but for software try the following;

There have been later, supposedly more advanced sytems released, but I have tried them all and never found anything to beat this one. However if you want to run a webserver so you can watch the camera output remotely, then you may need something more advanced. Try typing "Webcam Surveillance" into Google.

Oh and check out the Webcam Shootout in case it turns out you need a new camera.

I run two Watchports, and they are simply unbeatable in low light.
