Of course - the night before our first mix session - the right channel
of our (not new) 32 ghost console is cutting out intermittently. it is
the version with automation, though we are not using it.
this occurs only when the level is low and only on Mix A...Mix B is
fine.
it is verified by the main output meters...when the right side cuts
out...so does the meter.
any ghost users/ tech minded folks have experience with this or
similar? i did a search...we're checking the main inserts, cleaning
the fader and i'm scoping out the signal flow in the manual
tonight...calling some techs tomorrow...i'm in NE ohio if anyone has
recommendations...we have a few already.
thanks for any help...back to the board...good thing i'm bald already.

Maybe it's [issed that you're not using the automation....

The A mix fader could be wearing out or worn out, or has dirt or other
offensive material in it. Maybe cleaning will bring it back for a while
longer.

Not to worry until you wake up with hair on the bottom of your feet.
Very often this symptom is caused by dirty or faulty insert sockets. Either
spray them with switch cleaner or just insert a jack plug in and out a few
times. Or take a TRS (stereo) jack, wire tip and ring together and insert
permanently in the socket, which will bypass the dodgy switch causing the
problem.

Soundcraft insert jacks loose their tightness and become ittermittant.
Treat the contacts with Stabilant 22A and the problem will go away. The
flow soldering of the pcb's is a bit thin, many times the solder joints
on the jacks and switches become loose. Pull it apart and re-solder
these connections.
Soundcrafts are notorious for bad insert and headphone jacks.

Thank you all. It WAS the inserts. The quick fix was just sticking
something in there on bypass. Thanks to a RAP search, my partner
thinks i know what i'm doing.

hilarious! you joke - but i'm giving this a 50/60% chance of occuring
judging from my astounding mid 30's eyebrow growth!
have a good weekend...
