I'm having some trouble figuring out if some memory that I have is PC100 or PC133.

The memory I have is from IBM and it is marked as 256MB PC100 (32Mx72) 3.3V SDRAM 4k Refresh. The IBM part number is 33L3115.

On the IBM packaging, it lists the memory as PC100. There is also an IBM sticker on the memory that says PC100.

There is a second sticker on the memory from Infineon (the manufacturer) that lists the memory as PC133R-333-542-B2. I am aware that this memory is both ECC and registered.

The Infineon part # is HYS72V32301GR-7.5-C2

The 7.5 leads me to believe it is 133. But, when I go to Infineon's website, they list it as PC100 on the summary page, but as PC133 when I look at the detailed specs in the pdf. The link is www.infineon.com/cgi/ecrm.dll/ecrm/scripts/prod_ov.jsp?oid=13536

I have not been able to successfully contact Infineon to answer this question.

Any ideas on what the heck I have?

Did you try looking for freeware on the net to help you determine this? I have seen some around, at least for older memory.

It's probably PC133. After PC100 was no longer in production, companies made a lot of money relabling their PC133 as PC100. You see, PC133 is just PC100 that has a higher maximum clock. And with the shortage of PC100 pushing prices up, it made sense to relable PC133 as PC100 so you could get suckers to pay more for the "out of production" memory.
