OK, so I went web surfing yesterday, and discovered that I couldn't connect to madonion.com for some reason. It's in my list of favorites and I've never had trouble before. IE5.5 says it's "opening [the] page", then I keep being told that "The page you are looking for is currently unavailable." I thought maybe m.o. was just down for a while. Went to work today, and voila, I'm connected and logged in to madonion.
So, now I'm here at home, and back to being unable to connect. I haven't changed any settings or anything. I just suddenly can't connect from home.
Coincidence?

no problem connecting here.....maybe you should type in the url, or click this link http://www.madonion.com
and then add it to your favorites again. its possible that the link in your favorites became corrupted.....good ol IE 5.5!

Already tried that. I tried www.madonion.com & gamershq.madonion.com (several times, just in case of a speling erer!) with no improvement. It's like I'm typing in a totally bogus address!
Damn strange...

Try using the IP to see if it can connect. If it can, then *SOMEBODY* (University?) is filtering madonion out by killing the DNS

Thanks for the reply, however the problem occurs at home, not work. I'm really stumped on this one...

I am having a somewhat similar problem. I have a new pc and new broadband connection. The initial connect was fine. A day later, when I logged onto the net, the screen froze up and a splash screen reported that my internet connection properties had been changed...unable to connect with server. I didn't change any properties!!! This has happened twice in the last three days. My temporary fix was to finally uninstall the device and drivers, power my machine down and then physically remove the NIC card from the tower...powered back up...then reversed the whole process. Everything groovy...BUT (there always is one) as I have yet to know "How" or "Why" this occured, I expect it to happen again. Sound Familiar?? Any ideas???

Found the answer to my own Q! It's not a server problem. I had tripped across a door in the dark... :O Thanks anyway, got it all figured out.

Strange developement: I happened to still have the e-mail they sent with my password. It also had a link, and I tried that and it worked! Unfortunately, I can only access the forums. I can't get into the ORB, news, articles, hardware, etc.
This problem's got me trippin'...
