Ok heres the situation, I know nothing of laptops and my lil bro has some specs for college and I was looking for a little advice on where the best spot would be to grab one.
Here are the specs and thanks for your help!

Also is it just me or do these specs seem a little high for a college undergrad?

That looks standard. I'd go to Dell (with coupons) or HP if you don't want to spend a lot, you should be able to get one for $700-900.

Nah... they seem typical these days. I've worked with a variety of laptops and found that the keyboard layout matters more to me than anything else - I type a lot and preferred wide layouts. I find small keyboards unusable.

Your brother should take a look at a few - at Best Buy / Future Shop / Fry's - to decide what he likes.

Ok I went to dell but for these specs the lowest I could config on on there site was like 1700 bones? If someone can do it for 700-900 please show how.
