Talk to who setup the computer or who manages the network. OR if you setup the computer your account by default has administrative privileges when needed. This is the same security model introduced in Windows Vista and made better in Windows 7 and Windows 8. The model is called UAC or User Access Control.

When you know you need to do something with Admin rights you normally would right click on the program and select "Run as Administrator".

Contact your corporate Help Desk; the account may have been renamed or disabled by Group Policy. I would not want to suggest something that might get you fired.

Windows 8 Pro by default disables the Administrator account even when not part of a domain. This is best practice as you don't want this avenue of approach available to hackers. Additionally, the first user account created when setting up the computer has admin rights. UAC, however, keeps your account using low rights until you actually need admin rights. This is again best practice to reduce the amount of access a hacker has if they take over your account.

If you haven't deleted the admin user (first account) then you should still have admin rights. Go into the settings and check permissions or if something was disabled.
