I have a problem with my new Sony DRU510A DVD burner.

System:
Abit BG7 motherboard
Intel P4 2.4GHz CPU
Western Digital 120GB
1024MB DDR ram (2x 512MB) (PC2100)
Creative GeForce2 GTS Video card
Creative Soundblaster 5.1Live Sound card
IEEE1394/Firewire (OHCI)
Billion ISDN card
Windows 2000 Professional

I replaced my old Plextor 12/10/32 CD-RW burner with my new SONY DRU510A DVD burner.
And at the same time doubled my ram to 1024MB

After installing the DVD burner, everything seemed to work fine.
It could read a cd without problems.

The problems started when I tried to install the included software,
Sonic MyDVD and a few others:

When the installation was almost completed, until the "press finish to restart computer",
then the computer abruptly shut down (quickly, like if it lost power) and rebooted.

After the reboot, the winnt/inf folder was lost (including all the .inf files),
and the computer shutdown/reboot again everytime I try to start any program.
It was also impossible to uninstall the DVD software using the
add/remove programs in Control panel.

Now I have formatted the harddrive and installed win2k again.
Installed the drivers for the video card and sound card, and only the programs
Adobe Photoshop 6.0 and Adobe Premiere 6.0
It seems like Photoshop works fine, but when I try to start Premiere, the computer abruptly
shuts down and reboot again.

To mee, this seems to be a hardware problem/conflict between the
different components in my computer.

Has anyone had similar experiences?
Is it a software or hardware problem?

Installed the win2k service pack 4 (had SP3 before), and the very latest drivers for the video card and sound card.

Now, everything workes fine.
