I heard that AMD have slashed all their prices by 50%, so is it worth waiting a couple of months before buying a new laptop as I would expect the prices to tumble soon with those price cuts.
Even if they slash there prices, who cares ? they still have an inferior product that currently has no upgrade path to keep you happy for a long time.TurionX2 for me was a big dissapointment that i waited and waited for only to realize what i wanted would never come(X2 in a decent system).
you will still pay lots but for a product that you may outgrow fast. IF you get a core duo proccessor you can upgrade a year or so later to a core 2 duo when there cheap and get a significant performance boost.
Intel is slashing there prices like crazy too and are priced very competitevly with AMD.
In the end it all comes down to what you need it for and how long you want it to last.
Unless your really low on coin I would not choose a laptop simply on the fact i could save 100 or 200 dollars.
