When you get windows 7 it comes with 2 disks one for x64 on for x86 (32 bit) make sure you have the correct disk in the system and try again

EDIT: and if you have the 64 bit disk in that means you had 32 bit installed before and if you want 64-bit choose the option to do a clean install (if it's an "upgrade" disk start the install from inside windows)

I have both on the disc. I choose 64x and I already have 64 bit installed. I need to do a repair installation.

I am very low on external storage and reinstalling all my programs would take ages. Please I need to do a repair installation.
