Is there a way to save a plug in scheme from one project and import it
into another? So if I have a set of plug ins on certain tracks with
certain settings, is there a way to copy that to another project or do
i have to insert each plug in individually on the next project and then
set them again?
basically get yourself all set with your mix
Save the session as another name - i use "mix template" and save it
somewhere easily accessible to all songs
now be careful - select all sound files in the session and REMOVE (its in
the sub menus in the regions bin) - if you delete you will DELETE YOUR SONG
open another song
under the pull down menus (under file i think) select import tracks or
import session data (depends on which version of ptools)
it will ask you what data and tell it the file "mix template"
select what tracks you want to import
these tracks will now open in this session with all the plugs and pans etc.
drag the recorded material from where it is to the appropiate named track
(kick drum to kick drum etc.)
lastly, put all tracks to volume view - select all - delete. do the same for
pan and mute - this will clear whatever volume and pan data that might have
been left over from before and square you to what you had in your mix
template
if this makes no sense then i've done my job.

If it's a combination of plugs, see Iain's answer elsewhere in the
thread. If it's a single plug, just click on the "factory default"
button in the plug-in's own window and save your settings as a preset.
Then you can recall those settings anytime and anywhere you want.
