Multiple SATA and IDE hdds?

Hi all,

Just wondering if it's possible to put in SATA and IDE drives at the same time? I've currently got a 20gb Deskstar and a 60gb Maxtor (both IDE) in my machine, and would like to add a Raptor to my A7N8X Deluxe. Obviously, this mobo has empty spots for a SATA drive, but I'm wondering if you can mix and match them. Any input would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Yup, it shouldn't have a problem using multiple drives. I was once running 2x WD Raptor RAID 0 and a 40GB Maxtor (ATA133) all at the same time on my Asus A7V8X mobo. But I ended up selling my Maxtor now that I'm running SATA RAID.

  2. They are on separate controllers, so of course you can.
